About the Author
While attending college at Nihon University, in 1988, Miura debuted a 48-page manga known as Berserk Prototype, an introduction to the current Berserk fantasy world. It went on to win Miura a prize from the Comi Manga School. In 1989, after receiving a doctorate degree, Kentarou started a project titled King of Wolves based on a script by Buronson, writer of Hokuto no Ken (Fist Of The North Star).
In 1990, the first volume Berserk was released with a relatively limited success. Miura again collaborated with Buronson on manga entitled Japan. Miura's fame grew after Berserk began "The Golden Age" story arc and the huge success of this masterpiece made of him one of the most prominent contemporary manga artists.
In 1997, Miura supervised the production of 25 anime episodes of Berserk that aired in the same year on NTV.
The series has also spawned a whole host of merchandise, both official and fan-made, ranging from statues, action figures to key rings, video games, and a trading card game. In 2002, Kentaro Miura received the second place in the Tezuka Osamu (Astro Boy) Cultural Prize of Excellence for Berserk. The author lives in Tokyo, Japan.

A Short Epic With Fantastic Characters

The art for this book is, as always from Kentaro Miura, stunning, and the story is fantastic. It's shorter than I would want, but still a wonderful story, and while it isn't the same as Berserk in tone, Miura's characters still feel fully formed, just like they do in Berserk. That's probably the best thing I can say about this book: Miura can (seemingly effortlessly) make characters deep and fully formed in no time flat, and it instantly creates a book you want to read to completion multiple times.

A bold creative story of cosimc horror and hope

This is a boldly creative story and world that only Kentaro Miura could make come to life. High fantasy, scientific objectivity, and cosmic horror combine to tell a deeply human story. A story of hatred and compassion, heroism and villainy, division and understanding, victory and failure, and most of all hope and determination. I won't lie there is some very odd humor in this book, but a must read for anyone who loves fantasy or comics, or just likes good stories.

Leaves You wanting more

there is a little to no background on the characters but they are interesting and the world is very interesting and exciting. Wish it was a one shot but longer. Worth a read!
