Essential Genes lacks detail

The essential version of this textbook leaves much to be desired, and on many topics leaves loose ends and unclear explanations. If planning to take or teach a molecular biology class, spend the extra money to get the full version of the text, you will be much happier with it.

Well organized, easy to follow

Due to the set up of my class, I was able to teach myself molecular genetics with this book. It was very well written and organized with helpful graphics and tools. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I hate molecular genetics.

great molecular genetics book

One of the best biology books I had used for college, but I did have some trouble looking for material sometimes. The pictures are very colorful and informative, and the description of material is to the point with detail on it later.
